Broadly, there are two ways of using animation in therapeutic and community practice, by making animation with people (participatory) and by watching animation. Alongside our workshop programs, we also offer a professional animation service. We work with professional animators who we hand pick for projects because they are best suited to a project's requirements. We offer three ways of working:

  • Making animation with people to give them a voice (animated documentaries and reflections)
  • Making animation for ill-health prevention or to reduce anxiety/inform people about something health related (for example medical procedures)
  • We also make animation about subjects that people find difficult to talk about

At Animation Therapy we believe that it is important to offer a number of approaches when sharing information including: participatory practice, teaching and psycho education through animation.

We are particularly interested in supporting projects that involve making professional animation to explore how to maximise opportunities to reach audiences and your goals when sharing information. We also provide a professional consultancy service to other studios working in health who would like advice regarding occupational engagement and behavioral science.
